0

Seton Hall University’s WSOU radio is the only all-metal, all-the-time station currently broadcasting in the U.S., and has been a force in metal for decades. It’s also streamable online from anywhere in the world!

Each week, a different staff member of WSOU will share a quick review of an album they’re currently digging, right here on MetalSucks. Enjoy!

Lorna Shore, Immortal

Questions regarding Lorna Shore’s decision to release Immortal with CJ McCreery’s vocals may be quick to arise, but the 45 minute-long album, released January 31, breaks out swinging from its very first track, “Immortal.” The vocals are accompanied by a chorus sung in Latin, which only adds to the overall bombastic vibe of the album. The record’s first five songs are in your face, while the sound shifts to something more melancholic with “Misery System,” offering a break from the relentless first half, continuing with the softer “Darkest Spawn” and “Relentless Torment.”Musically, Immortal is quintessential Lorna Shore deathcore from beginning to end. To anyone who wants solid and masterfully executed deathcore through and through, Immortal is your newest favorite.
