Alice In Chains’ Jerry Cantrell is in the Studio Recording a Solo Album
It’s been a while since Alice In Chains guitarist and vocalist Jerry Cantrell’s 2002 solo record Degradation Trip, and now he’s finally back in the studio.
On Instagram, he teased fans with this post:
The comments are full of excited fans. It’s not necessarily a surprise, though. Last month, he was speaking on the red carpet of the MusiCares Person Of The Year tribute to Aerosmith, and said:
“When I’m with Alice, I’m with Alice and that takes the majority of my time. This year, we’re taking a little time off so. If you liked any of the solo work that I did or work with Alice, I’m sure you might like some of this stuff too.”
Hopefully we’ll get a full album by the fall. It’s been 18 years, and now we have to wait even longer. So close, yet so far.
Alice In Chains have been taking some time off after the 2018 release of Rainier Fog, the band’s 7th studio album. Last year, they went on a massive tour with Korn, Underoath, Ho99o9, and FEVER 333. If you missed that, sucks for you. They’ll be back eventually.
