Watch: Aborted, Black Crown Initiate, Static-X Members Record Metal Vocals for Doom Eternal Video Game

Video games and metal are a combination as old as time, particularly when the games in question get gory. So it’s no surprise that the creators of Doom Eternal, the latest entry into the legendary Doom video game franchise, have opted to include metal in the game’s soundtrack in a prominent fashion.

But what is surprising — nay, impressive — is that they enlisted several well-known vocalists to do it. Assembling what they referred to as a “heavy metal choir,” a couple of dozen metal vocalists gathered on a sound stage to record chants and voiceovers for the game. Black Crown Initiate’s James Dorton, Aborted’s Sven de Caluwe, Tony Campos of Static-X/Ministry and the late Nature Ganganbaigal of Tengger Cavalry are just a few of the famous metal musicians to participate.

Check out a brief video below about Doom‘s heavy metal choir, featuring interviews with all of the above names, the game’s creators and more. Doom Eternal comes out on March 20.If you’re wanting to take your love for music and all things metal even further, you should consider sites like CSGOBook, who provide metal slot games for you play from a number of developers.
