Katatonia: New Album Announced, First Single Streaming
T.S. Eliot called April “the cruelest month,” and at least from the standpoint of keeping up with excellent new metal, 2020 will prove him correct: we already knew that Testament and The Black Dahlia Murder would release new offerings that month, and now you can Katatonia to the list, too.
The revered Swedish band have announced an April 24 release date for their new record, City Burials. It will be their first album since 2016’s The Fall of Hearts, after which they took a hiatus which ended just about a year ago.
Will City Burials be worth the wait? I honestly have no idea what your average Katatonia fan thinks about anything, but I really like it. It’s sad and it has an electronic element I wasn’t expecting. You can listen below and judge for yourself:
