Watch: Henry Rollins Stars in Advertisement for LAX Airport
Of all the products and places one might choose to advertise, an airport would rank near the bottom of the list. Travelers usually don’t have a choice of which airport they use: either a flight goes where you want to go or it doesn’t, and either its price is affordable or it’s crazy expensive. You’re not at a particular airport because you wanna be, you’re there because you have to be. It’s not like you’re deciding which Norwegian fjord to visit or what have you.
But that hasn’t stopped LAX, the largest airport in the Los Angeles area (and one of the busiest in the world), from producing a nearly four-minute spot that touts its amenities. And they hired punk icon Henry Rollins to star in it!
In the clip, Rollins sings the praises of the airport’s automatic check-in kiosks, gourmet dining options and executive suites while reminding travelers to arrive early, bring proper ID and pack lightly. But the biggest revelation, at least to me, is that LAX has therapy dogs available for anyone in need of unconditional love! Take that, Hollywood Burbank and Long Beach airports!
