Coachella 2020 to Feature Rage Against the Machine, Code Orange, and More
When Rage Against the Machine reunion tour dates leaked last year, they included a stop at Coachella.
But then it was reported that those tour dates were fake.
But now it has been reported that Rage Against the Machine will, indeed, be one of Coachella’s headliners this spring (get tickets here).
But also, the originally-leaked, allegedly-fake Coachella dates were incorrect… kind of. The festival will take place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California on April 10-12 and April 17-19, with RATM performing on the 10th and 17th… not the 10th and 18th, as the original leak suggested. So the leaked dates were, technically, wrong, but not by very much.
So are the other tour dates also gonna turn out to have been real, or pretty damn close to real? Were we lied to by the band’s handlers? Should we be raging against Rage Against the Machine’s machine?
I do not have answers. But I get paid by the syllable and I have four kids to feed. Thank you for reading.
Other metal-friendly artists confirmed for Coachella 2020 include Code Orange and The Hu. I think it’s also worth noting that metal-loving hip-hop act Run the Jewels are scheduled to perform the same days as Rage Against the Machine, because one of their biggest hits, “Close Your Eyes (And Count to Fuck),” features RATM frontman Zack de la Rocha. They usually cut Zack’s verse out when performing the song live, unless it’s a show where they’re able to get Zack to make a cameo. See where my line of thinking is headed here?
The complete Coachella line-up is on the below poster. In case you missed the link to purchase tickets up in the third paragraph of this post, here it is again.
