Mötley Crüe Are Working With Trainers and Nutritionists to Get Ready for 2020 Tour

0

When rumors for next summer’s Mötley Crüe reunion run with Def Leppard started heating up but before the tour was officially announced, you may recall one report stated that a condition demanded by live events behemoth Live Nation was that Vince Neil had to drop 40 pounds and begin treatment for substance abuse. The same report indicated that Neil believed it was Tommy Lee who needed to head to rehab.

Those rumors were never confirmed, but according to the band’s manager, Allen Kovac, in a new report from Fox Business, some members of the band are attempting to get into shape regardless. Here’s what he offered:

“Some of them are working with a trainer, some of them are working with a nutritionist to make themselves the best they can be. The greatest insecurity for an artist is: Is anyone going to care about my music? Is anyone going to buy a ticket? We were in November when the discussions were happening, and these guys were already into regimens of how they get ready for a tour.”

That’s a bit of a sneaky answer that doesn’t mention names, and when called out on that, here’s how he responded with regards to Neil specifically:

“Let’s see what Vince sings like and looks like when the tour goes out.”

Let’s see, indeed: Neil has been a laughingstock for years, even on the band’s previous “farewell” tour and long before that, mocked relentlessly for the quickness with which he becomes visibly and audibly winded. Here’s one such example:

It should also be noted that Mick Mars’s ankylosing spondylitis, a chronic condition that causes fusing of the bones, has only been getting worse as the years go by.

Will Neil be able to get it together vocally? Will Mars be able to withstand the rigors of a two-hour stadium show? Does it even matter? Tickets are already selling like hot cakes, so probably not.
