Poll Results: How Much Are Fans Willing to Pay for Mötley Crüe Tickets?
A couple of weeks ago, following the announcement that Mötley Crüe would scuttle their infamous “cessation of touring” contract for a massive summer stadium tour next year, we ran a poll asking our readers how much they’d be willing to spend on tickets for the affair, which at the time we knew also included Def Leppard and Poison (we’ve since learned Joan Jett and The Blackhearts will join as well).
Nearly 41% of 3,841 respondents said they wouldn’t attend the tour at all. In hindsight we shouldn’t have included that voting option, as our interest lay in finding out how much people who ARE interested in attending would be willing to spend.
Taking that out of the equation, 51% of the remaining 2,275 respondents said they’d pay $75-$100, 17% said they’d spend between $101 and $125, and 13% said they’d spend between $126 and $150. Interestingly, 9.6% said they’d be willing to plop down $200 or more, with other amounts less than $200 getting a lower percentage of votes.
Tickets are now officially on sale, and I’ve got bad news for the 51% of people who said they wouldn’t want to spend more than $100: that probably ain’t happening, but assuming you can stretch your budget just a little, you should be able to get nosebleed seats. A few cities I looked at with larger stadiums have tickets available in the $80 range, but once all’s said and done you’ll still be over $100 after fees. There’s no shortage of options for those willing to spend well more, of course, so take a look at the listings and see what fits your budget.
