Watch: Ozzy Osbourne Performs at the US Festival in 1983

0

Ozzy Osbourne is getting set to release both a new album and a boxset of classics in the near future, and with all that naturally comes a celebration of his storied past. To that end, some footage of his performance at the US Festival in 1983, held at the Glen Helen Pavilion (now called the Glen Helen Amphitheater) in San Bernardino, CA, has come to light, and it’s quite a trip to watch.

The obvious allure is that holy shit Ozzy is so young! But so is Jake E. Lee, only 26 years old here… and come to think of it, I’m not sure I’ve seen live footage of Lee-era Ozzy before. That hair! That outfit! That’s longtime Ozzy bassist Bob Daisley on the low-end and Tommy Aldridge on drums, and man, what a lineup of killer musicians. It’s fun to look back on shows like this, compare them to recent performances, and note that Ozzy hasn’t changed up his stage moves or between-song banter one bit — he’s just slower and older now (but still kicking, remarkably).

Take a look below. Ozzy has a slew of solo tour dates booked in North America and Europe next year, rescheduled after recent health issue. All dates posted underneath the videos with tickets available here.
