’80s U.K. Thrash Band Xentrix Post New Video for “Bury the Pain”

U.K. thrash metal band Xentrix formed in 1984 and made their mark on metal in the ’80s and early ’90s before breaking up in 1996, only to reunite several years later. The band hasn’t released a full-length album for 23 years, but now they’ve returned with Bury the Pain, an album on a mission to circle back to their sound and style of the late ’80s but with a modern touch.

Bury The Pain finds the band as heavy as ever, featuring rigid basslines, intricate shredding and blasting drum beats that will satisfy any thrash lover’s needs. The band has released a video for the album’s title track, the clean but dark aesthetic of which perfectly matches the music, even if they’ve taken a page out of black metal’s books and replaced their stage with a forest set. Surrounded by explosive lighting and bursts of smoke that almost resemble flames, the band performs the chunky track dressed as if they came straight out of the ’80s thrash scene to give us a nostalgia-laden performance.
