Pitchfork’s “200 Best Albums of the 2010s” List Only Includes Three Metal Albums

Ready to get stangry about the lack of recognition metal gets in the mainstream? Of course you are! That’s what the internet is for!

Of course, you could just follow MetalSucks’ own list of the 25 Best Metal Albums of the 2010s, painstakingly compiled from the votes of almost 200 musicians and industry members. I think it came out pretty damn good, and we’re now in the top five, having counted down one album per day for the past month…

… but yay, arguing! Pitchfork’s list of the 200 best albums of the 2010s barely includes any metal albums! And none made the top 100! Can you believe it??

Specifically, those album’s are Portal’s Vexovoid (#196), Pallbearer’s Foundations of Burden (#159) and Deafheaven’s Sunbather (#123), the latter of which also made our list. Punk bands get a few nods as well, with Iceage and Sheer Mag making the cut. Personally, I was stoked to see Jenny Lewis make the list and Robyn place twice.
