Slipknot are Bringing Knotfest to Japan

0

Such is the dearth of Slipknot-related news lately, and such is MetalSucks’ traffic suffering as a result (in addition to every other metal website… they just won’t admit it publicly!), that yesterday I paid a visit to Corey Taylor’s Instagram and Twitter profiles to see if The Most Important Person on Earth™ was up to anything noteworthy. Or even non-noteworthy, like that time he got his hair braided while on vacation in the Caribbean and people flocked to the news article about it like a dog on a leash eager to sniff another dog’s butthole.

Alas, Corey Taylor has not posted anything to social media in over a week. I know, I know, I too find myself questioning the very meaning of life (and wondering how I’m gonna afford to keep the MS Mansion Monkeys stocked with primo bananas this week).

But at least there is this: Slipknot have announced they’ll be bringing Knotfest to Japan in March, 2020, a two-day event at the Makuhari Messe near Tokyo that will feature Slipknot headlining both nights. Anthrax and Korn will also perform, with more acts to be announced soon. Obviously this is huge news for Japanese Slipknot fans, but no matter where you’re from, if you’ve always wanted to visit Japan this could be a great excuse to make it happen. Knotfest previously came to Japan in both 2016 and 2014.

Slipknot have a big European arena tour planned for the upcoming winter; get tickets here.

Slipknot have been making good on their promise to give Knotfest an ongoing international presence, having so far brought it to France (as part of Hellfest) and with upcoming Knotfests scheduled in Mexico and Colombia. We’ll see what else they have in the works for the rest of the world next year.
