Watch: Scott Ian’s 8-Year-Old Son Performs “Everlong” Live with Foo Fighters
There are so many ways one could spin this article, in which we post a video of Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian’s eight-year-old son, Revel, performing “Everlong” live with Foo Fighters at the Bourbon & Beyond Festival in Louisville, KY this past weekend.
“Holy crap, the kid performed in front of 40,000 people and nailed it!” or “Wow, he’s only eight and he can play like that?” or “Scott Ian is the coolest dad ever!” or “Dave Grohl proves, once again, that he’s the #1 dude for orchestrating this performance (and rocking out with the kid on stage)!”
All of those things are true, but this video is so incredibly heart-warming to watch that you’re just gonna have to see it for yourself. Admittedly Revel looks a bit nervous, but he sticks it out to riotous applause.
Scott filmed the whole thing and had it stitched together with fan-filmed footage from the crowd, resulting in a “multi-cam” video he shared on Instagram, saying:
“There goes my hero!
“Proudest dad moment ever? How about when your son gets to join his favorite band on stage to play Everlong in front of 40,000 people and NAILS IT! Thank you Dave, Taylor, Pat, Nate, Chris, Rami, Gus, Kerwin, Sean, Patrick, Simone and everyone else on the Foo crew for being the best!!!”
You can watch the entire performance below. S/o to Scott for the congratulatory “you fuckin’ ruled!” hug at the end.
