Abigail Williams Release New Song; Ken Sorceron Says Being in The Faceless Taught Him “How Not to Run a Band”

First, the veggies:

Abigail Williams have announced that they’ll release a new album, Walk Beyond the Dark, on November 15 via Blood Music. You can stream the first single, “I Will Depart,” below. I’ve not traditionally been the world’s biggest Abby-Dubs fan (that’s what I’m told the cool kids are calling them), but I’m digging “Depart.” It’s some evil-sounding shit, man.

You can pre-order Walk Beyond the Dark here. According to The PRP, the band are also plotting a fall tour of North American with Ensiferum, Kalmah, and Aenimus, but no dates for that trek have been released yet.

Now, dessert:

“I Will Depart” was debuted by Metal Hammer, who also published a new interview with Abby-Dubs mastermind and former vocalist for The Faceless, Ken Sorceron. And during that interview, Mr. Sorceron was asked if his time fronting The Faceless taught him anything… to which he responded:

“I quit the Faceless over a year ago now, and though it didn’t influence my song-writing at all, I definitely would say it taught me some things about how or how not to run a band. 

“I still value some of the time I spent with that band, and the great guys that I played with who were very talented.”

You don’t exactly have to read between the lines here to get Sorceron’s meaning. His departure from The Faceless was followed swiftly by those of guitarist Justin McKinney (also of The Zenith Passage) and drummer Bryce Butler, who went on tour with Abigail Williams… so clearly there was no animosity between Sorceron and his fellow Faceless hired guns. His issue lies solely with The Faceless’ guitarist/vocalist/leader, Michael Keene. Not shocking, but still a siqq burn, bruh.
