Classic Filter Lineup Reunion Album is Now a No-Go
Last year it was announced that Filter mainman and co-founder Brian Liesegang were working together again for the first time in 20 years on a new album. But now Richard Patrick has taken to Facebook to reveal that their plans for new material have been shunned due to the ongoing financial crisis with PledgeMusic, the campaign site they used to fund the recording of reBus. The statement reads:
“reBus is noBus!!! Due to the PledgeMusic debacle there will be no rebus record featuring Brian Liesagang. Instead, we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of ‘title of record’”
In lieu of the new record, we can expect the re-release of Title of Record on August 9th, including some rare songs that appeared on movie soundtracks like “(Can’t You) Trip Like I Do” off of the Spawn: The Album cult-classic soundtrack, “Jurassitol,” from The Crow, and remixes of singles such as “The Best Things” and “Take a Picture.”
The release will come in a two-LP set or on CD and will feature new liner notes by author, journalist, and Side Jams podcast host Bryan Reeseman. The expanded digital album will also offer five additional rarities including a live version of “Take A Picture,” “The Best Things (Dub Pistols Club Mix)” and more.
