NONPOINT POSTS A NEW SO-SO SONG

Florida latin-metallers Nonpoint have posted a new song on their MySpace page entitled “March of War,” from their upcoming November 6th release Vengeance (Bieler Bros.). Am I the only one who thinks Nonpoint peaked creatively with 2004’s Recoil? While immediately better than anything on 2005’s back-to-numetal release To the Pain, this song just isn’t doing much for me. Like other former rap metal bands who abandoned that sound in favor of a more hooky alt-metal song structure, I feel Nonpoint is at their best when not trying to be heavy for the sake of heavy and instead focusing on writing good songs. This is a step in the right direction. We’ll see.

Nonpoint will be co-headlining a US tour this fall with UK reggae-metallers Skindred.
