Former Five Finger Death Punch drummer Jeremy Spencer is a fucking cop now. Because of course he is.

Spencer left the band last year to be replaced by ex-Scale the Summit skinsman Charlie Engen, citing “the rigorous physical wear and tear” of a chronic back issue. The boys in blue in Rockport, IN, it seems, don’t demand peak physical fitness from their officers. Excuse me — reserve police officers, the role in which Spencer joined the force of the city near where he grew up.

Of all the professions Spencer could’ve chosen, it makes perfect sense that he opted for law enforcement. It’s the very embodiment of the red state tough-guy bro image the band has always trafficked in.

I certainly wish the guy well and hope he does justice on the mean streets of Rockport (population 2,270), where his full neck tattoo will likely scare off the local seventh graders shoplifting chocolate syrup for fun, but jeez… this story is rich.
