Sharon Osbourne Reveals More Details About Ozzy’s Latest Injuries
Ozzy Osbourne’s latest medical woes have forced the cancelation of all of his 2019 tour dates. This after he already had to cancel or reschedule several shows last year and early this year due to pneumonia and multiple staph infections.
All we previously knew about the most recent injury came from a press release telling us that Ozzy “fell at his Los Angeles home aggravating years-old injuries (from his 2003 ATV accident) that required surgery last month,” but now his wife Sharon has elaborated a bit on the April 8th episode of her TV show, The Talk, explaining that Ozzy fell in the middle night and dislodged the metal rods that had been inserted into his body after the ATV accident:
“Ozzy is… Oh, Lord, I don’t know where to begin, and I have to make this quick… He, at the beginning of the year, had a bad flu that went to bronchitis, that went to pneumonia. And then when he had the flu, he came out of hospital and he had a bad accident at home.
“He fell. And he fell in the middle of the night. And years ago, previously, he had a motorbike accident, where he was in a coma for days. And what he’d done was he reinjured his back and neck and shoulders.
“And all of the metal rods and everything that were put in his body were dislodged. So we had to cancel his year events. But he’s good, he’s fine, he’s great.”
While I’m certainly glad that “he’s good, he’s fine, he’s great,” there’s no getting around the fact that this recent spate of injuries is concerning. On top of the fact that the corrective surgery is almost sure to slow him down physically (and let’s face it, he’s not exactly a spry 70 year old to begin with), all this stuff adds up to “man, Ozzy is old.” Here’s to a speedy recovery.
