Yashira Reveal New Track “Led To Ache” From Split with Zao
Though Jacksonville, FL natives Yashira have only recently stepped foot onto the scene (we featured them a couple years ago before they were signed), they’ve been pushing forward and developing their sound in approximately 32 different directions at once, leaving us with absolutely no clue what to expect from them at this point.
Yahira’s newest track from their split with Zao, “Led To Ache”, brings a little of everything to the table: the encumbered pace and manged vocals of sludge, like something you might hear off Mastodon’s Remission or Earth Ship’s Withered, as well as the desolation of modern black metal and some crushing Sumac-esque depravity. It’s fucking tight (might I even say perfect?), and it needs to be in your ears immediately. Check out what the band have to say about the track:
“When we were approached to do the split, we had just finished writing ‘Led To Ache‘ and felt it fit perfectly with Zao’s track. The song deals with the harm that manifests daily through the corporate obsession with production, development, and expansion, as well as the subsequent guilt of being a consumer in 2018 and cynicism about the future.”
Isn’t capitalism great? Listen to “Led To Ache” below, then listen to it ten more times, then order the split via Mind Over Matter here. Catch Yashira on tour this month with Zao and The Atlas Moth; dates under the video.
