Cattle Decapitation to Release Rarities Collection
We’re getting new Cattle Decapitation music this autumn! Well, not “new” new, but it will likely be new or partially new to plenty of us: set for a November 23 release on Metal Blade, Medium Rarities will be — you guessed it! — a rarities collection. The twenty-three-song release will include “never before heard songs, hard to find/out of print tracks, live material, cover tunes and ultra rare pre-Human Jerky tracks never before heard by fans of the band.” So, like I said, the music isn’t “new” per se, but it might as well be, especially for those of us who aren’t hip enough to have cassette demos we traded or whatever before anyone knew who the fuck Cattle Decap were.
Here’s the album art, which continues the proud Cattle Decapitation tradition of cover images that awesome, gross, and awesomely gross…
…and here’s the lead single, “An Exposition of Insides,” which was originally included as a bonus track on the Japanese edition of 2012’s Monolith of Inhumanity:
So, there ya have it. Cattle Decapitation can release old material they didn’t consider strong enough to make the cut the first go-round, and it’s still superior to what 99% of other death metal bands are putting out right now. There may be something to this whole not eating meat thing.
Pre-order Medium Rarities here. Cattle Decap’s new line-up begin a tour with Suffocation, Krisiun, and Soreption next month; get dates here.
