Video: Asking Alexandria’s Danny Worsnop Proposes To His Girlfriend Mid-Set

It’s no secret that we here at MetalSucks are not big Asking Alexandria fans. But you know what we are fans of? Fuckin’ LOVE. That’s right, in the words of Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor, we here at the Mansion are sensitive as shit, and when we’re not bitching about Dave Mustaine, we’re crying while watching The Princess Bride and writing sonnets.

So look, we may rip on Asking Alexandria frontman Danny Worsnop here and there (and there, and there), but we gotta give the guy props for this romantic gesture: midway through AA’s set at EST Fest V in Butler, Ohio, Worsnop walked offstage, whispered something to his girlfriend Victoria Potter…and then got down on one knee and proposed. Bam.

“Yesterday I took a little detour in our show to do something that’s been on my mind for a long time now. This woman has carried me through so much. She taught me to open up, to let love in, to be vulnerable, and to be true to myself.

She has loved me through my crazy and my quiet, when I’m the hardest to love. She holds me when I break, and pushes me when I don’t think I’m enough. Because of her I wake up every day a better man than I was the day before. She will never know just how special she is to me, or just how much love I have for her… but that isn’t going to stop me from doing everything I can to show her for the rest of our lives. She is my angel and I’m never letting go.

I am the luckiest and happiest man in the world.”

Sniff. Fuck you, I just have weed smoke in my eye.

All joking aside, congrats to Worsnop and Potter. We hope their children keep them up all night listening to Darkthrone and Rwake.
