Ghost’s New Frontman Isn’t Papa Emeritus IV — It’s Cardinal Copia

Fans have been anxiously awaiting the much-teased arrival of Ghost’s “new” Papa Emeritus (it’s always just band mastermind Tobias Forge in slightly different make-up). But the band has decided to shake things up and throw us a bit of a curveball: according to this new (quite droll) video, the band’s next singer isn’t the fourth Papa Emeritus, but, instead, the first Cardinal Copia.

The big takeaway here, I’m sure I don’t have to tell you, is that members of the Ghost clergy are not expected to remain celibate. Fascinating.

I’m kidding. I do think it’s interesting, though, that the character’s name is clearly a play on the word “cornucopia.” Either that, or Ghost have a new endorsement deal with this food donation platform. But I’m guessing it’s the former.
