Inquisition Dropped from Satyricon Tour + Maryland Deathfest
Inquisition will no longer play support on Satyricon’s upcoming tour of North America, according to a statement released by the band:
“Inquisition extends its appreciation to all fans and individuals who have supported us throughtout its career. A thank you will never be enough to express our level of regard to you.
“Inquisition has been dropped from the Satyricon tour.
“Inquisition will continue; in the mean time we respect everones position and will allow time to control the chaos over its own horizons into its own order.
“Once again our greatest level of appreciation to you.”
Satyricon have not yet released a statement on the matter.
Additionally, the organizers of Maryland Deathfest have announced that Inquisition — along with Zemial, Chthe’ilist, and Blk Ops — will no longer appear at the 2018 edition of the event. Bölzer, Ascended Dead, and Future Terror have been added to the bill instead, and a “replacement for Inquisition will be determined shortly.”
Last week MetalSucks reported that controversial Inquisition frontman Jason “Dagon” Weirbach was was charged with Possession of Depictions of a Minor Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct in December of 2008; in June of 2009, he plead guilty to Unlawful Display of Sexually Explicit Material and Obstructing a Law Enforcement Officer. Weirbach subsequently released this statement explaining “my side of the story.”
