Tool’s New Album is Being Recorded on 2″ Tape

For better or worse, Tool continue to engage in Luddism. The band’s music isn’t on any digital platforms — for streaming or sale — and frontman Maynard James Keenan has recently demonstrated a serious distaste for smart phones.

Now Adam Jones has revealed that the band is recording their new album on analog tape. The guitarist made the revelation in a pair of Instagram videos that don’t have sound because you can die screaming before you’ll ever hear a note of new Tool, motherfucker.

The release of the new Tool album is tentatively scheduled to coincide with the second coming of Jesus Christ.
