The Armed Rake Up Swamp Pop and Space Lust on Only Love

After an agonizing three years of near-silence, the world’s greatest band are back with a new piece of pure fire: Detroit-based anonymous collective The Armed have announced Only Love, the follow up to their 2015 masterpiece Untitled.

Once again produced by Kurt Ballou and once again featuring a new guest drummer — this time it’s Ben Koller, the man behind your favorite bands Mutoid Man, Converge, All Pigs Must Die, etc. — Only Love is batshit insanity. Idk even what to call it tbh: it’s poppy, annoying, math-y, catchy, possibly inane, etc.

In anticipation of the release, the band has released a video for the album’s opening track “Witness,” a surrealistic widescreen exploration of celluloid, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and swamp culture.
