Metalheads everywhere will surely be glad to learn that Danica Roem is still reppin’ extreme music, even though she is now a political figure in the national spotlight.

Ms. Roem, a metal vocalist who recently became Virginia’s first openly transgender elected official and America’s first openly transgender elected state official (defeating a fossil who refused to acknowledge her as a woman, no less!), recently appeared on Comedy Central’s The Opposition Report with Jordan Klepper, during which time she… well, here, watch for yourself:

So there’s a few million more people who have now heard of Municipal Waste. Hopefully, the metal community doesn’t ruin the occasion by arguing about whether or not Danica is correct about Municipal Waste launching the re-thrash movement. Let’s just enjoy this little moment and not argue about something silly for once, okay?
