Listen: Code Orange Remix alt-J
Alt-J, stylised as alt-J, are an English indie rock band formed in 2007 in Leeds, by Gwil Sainsbury (guitar/bass), Joe Newman (guitar/lead vocals), Thom Sonny Green (drums) and Gus Unger-Hamilton (keyboards/vocals). In case it isn’t obvious from the general style of that sentence, I just copied it from Wikipedia. I had never of alt-J until ten minutes ago, when I read on Lambgoat that they’ve just had two of their songs, “Adeline” and “Hit Me Like That Snare,” remixed by Code Orange.
Explains Code Orange’s Eric “Shade” Balderose:
“I wanted to dismantle the songs entirely and completely rebuild them as if they had come from a different world, and that’s what I did. See the world with Code Orange vision. No boxes, no boundaries, no fear.”
Listen to what alt-J sound like without boxes, boundaries, or fear below. The accompanying visuals were created by created by Dmitry Zakharov. Both cuts are available now via Canvasback and Roadrunner. If you’re a Code Orange fan, I’d also highly recommend you check out CO guitarist Reba Meyers’ drumceptional contribution to this year’s Gear Gods/Toontracks Drumception event, because it basically sounds like a Code Orange song with Dirk Verbeuren on drums. You can do so here.
