Are we currently experiencing the End of Days? We don’t know yet, obviously, but it sure does feel that way.

Assuming we are all, indeed, completely fucked, at least we can go out furiously moshing, courtesy of Toxic Shock. The Belgian band’s Flemming Rasmussen-produced sophomore full-length is called, rather appropriately, Twentylastcentury — and it’s a goddamn motherfucking RAGER. The group has previously released a split with Iron Reagan, which should give some sense of what their music holds in store for you: steel-toed crossover that’ll rip off your intestines out your ass. We’re saying this record is really good.

Also really good: the video for “Great Great Gift,” the latest single from Twentylastcentury. Filmed in Brookyln by directors Ben Tesseur & Maarten de With, and featuring cameos from Walter Schreifels (Quicksand, Youth of Today, Gorilla Biscuits), John Joseph (Cro-Mags), and Paul Bearer (Sheer Terror), the “Great Great Gift” video gives new meaning to the phrase “master of puppets.”

The band had this to say about the clip:

“Stuck in a rut, Wally is faced with the ugly face of reality, and decides to give his life more purpose through the energy that music can bring. Handing out flyers through Brooklyn and the Lower East Side to promote his band’s show, he encounters a lot of his musical heroes. If you look for them you’ll see a lot of references and musicians, like a puppet version of Raybeez, or a human version of Walter Schreifels…”
