Marilyn Manson Parts Ways with Bassist Jeordie “Twiggy Ramirez” White Following Rape Allegation

As you are no doubt aware, this past weekend, Jack Off Jill vocalist Jessicka Adams alleged that Marilyn Manson bassist Jeordie White, a.k.a. “Twiggy Ramirez,” raped her when the two were dating back in the ’90s. Unsurprisingly, Manson has now chosen to distance himself from White, ousting the longtime collaborator from his band.

Manson made the announcement via the below statement, which, somewhat oddly, doesn’t even mention the accusations against White:

“I have decided to part ways with Jeordie White as a member of Marilyn Manson. He will be replaced for the upcoming tour. I wish him well.”

But if you think that’s weird, wait ’til you read the bassist’s statement:

“I wish to spend this time with my family and focus on maintaining my several years of sobriety. i will be taking a leave of absence from marilyn manson and regrettably will not be performing on the upcoming tour.”

“A leave of absence.” Sure, sure.

White has been one of, if not the, most important collaborators in Manson’s career. He joined the band after they recorded their debut album, Portrait of an American Family (1994), and appeared on all of their records up to and including Holy Wood (2000). He left the band in 2002 and became a member of A Perfect Circle and Nine Inch Nails before reuniting with Manson for 2009’s The High End of Low. He wrote many of Manson’s biggest hits, including “The Beautiful People,” “The Dope Show,” and “Disposable Teens.”

I’m not really sure what else there is to say; assuming the accusations against him are true, White deserves all the trouble coming his way and then some. So I will conclude with the following observation: I bet Manson and White both really regret taking these photos now.
