Whitechapel are Working on a New Album
Once upon a time not that long ago, Whitechapel were not taken seriously by the metal elite (or even pseudo-elite). They have since evolved into one of metal’s bigger acts while commanding respect from the community at large. How’d they do it? Hard work, perseverance and writing good fucking songs, that’s how.
If guitarist Alex Wade is to be believed — and why wouldn’t he be? — Whitechapel are currently writing for their seventh full-length. Yesterday Wade took to Instagram to show off some brand new guitars he’s allegedly using to write, and he hinted in another post last month that the band would hit the studio after they head out on tour with Carnifex, Rings of Saturn, Entheos and So This Is Suffering to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their breakthrough album The Somatic Defilement.
With drummer Ben Harclerode out of the band, it’s not clear who will take his place on the recording — or, for that matter, the upcoming tour — although our money’s on Chason Westmoreland (Hate Eternal, The Faceless), who filled in on their recent European run.
More as we learn it!
