Puddle of Mudd’s Wes Scantlin Arrested for Trying to Bring a Gun on a Plane

I know we all like to think of Wes Scantlin as a pillar of the community, the human equivalent of A City Upon a Hill, a bastion of goodness who always does right by his fans and is almost saintly in his ability to do no wrong. So this report from TMZ may come as a major, major shock to your system:

“Wes Scantlin was busted at LAX Saturday after he tried boarding a plane with a BB gun.  He was taken to jail and booked.  His bail was a whopping $850,000.  It appears there were other charges as well.

“Wes was trying to get from L.A. to Keller, Texas, where his band was scheduled to perform.  Without a lead singer, what’s the point, so they pulled the plug.”

In Scantlin’s defense, who knew you couldn’t bring a gun — even a BB gun — on a plane? Since when were we so uptight about about airplane security? This seems like a perfectly reasonable error that any thinking adult could have made. There but for the grace of God go I.

Hopefully Scantlin makes bail on goes back to being the guy who never, ever makes headlines for scandalous behavior soon.
