WITH A NAME LIKE “EVENTIDE” THIS BAND BETTER BE SWEDISH MELODIC DEATH METAL

And of course they are; duh. There’s something about a band name that says it all; just like we know that if a band’s name starts with “The” we should run for the hills, these melo-death bands have a knack for naming themselves appropriately (see also: Raintime, Dream Evil, Mercenary, Firewind, etc etc etc). So when we saw the Blabbermouth headline announcing that Eventide is recording new demos, we pretty much knew what to expect having never even heard the band before. And this is a great thing; while Eventide’s brand of melodic death isn’t all that much different from their Swedish brethren In Flames, Soilwork and Scar Symmetry, they’ve definitely got their own stamp and they’re good musicians to boot.

In our never-ending quest to index every Swedish melodic death metal band on the planet, add Eventide to the list. Oh, and guess what, they’re unsigned.
