Lawsuit Planned Against Trucking Company in Adrenaline Mob Crash; Two Still Hospitalized
Two members of the Adrenaline Mob traveling party remain hospitalized one month after the RV crash that took the life of bassist David Zablidowsky. According to the Times Leader of Wilkes-Barre, PA, the hometown of Adrenaline Mob tour manager Janet Rains, attorneys Ed Ciarimboli and Greg Fellerman held a press conference last Thursday in which they gave updates on the condition of three members of the band’s crew and spoke about legal action that could follow.
Rains, more commonly known as Jane Train, remains in the burn unit of a Gainesville, FL hospital. She has had several surgeries and will need to continue to stay in the hospital “for a considerable amount of time into the future.” Adrenaline Mob’s sound man, Rob Dressler, has returned home but “he’s continuing to recover from the devastating, devastating injuries he has as well,” while Jason McCloe, the RV’s driver, is still “in a long-term care facility and has another surgery scheduled.” No update was given on the condition of Dale Campiglia, who was previously reported as “seriously injured.”
Ciarimboli also revealed that the driver of the truck which struck Adrenaline Mob’s RV worked for Twiss Transportation, a company based in Largo, FL, and that the vehicle “crossed at least one full traffic lane before leaving the road” and striking the RV, which was parked on the shoulder. Twiss has been involved in 14 crashes over the past two years, one of which caused a fatality, not including the Adrenaline Mob incident.
The legal team is planning action against Twiss, according to Citizens Voice, citing the company’s 87 violations during the past 24 months. Data from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration shows that 26 of those violations were for unsafe driving, 31 for hours-of-service compliance, 28 for vehicle maintenance and two for controlled substances and alcohol. Ciarimbola said:
“Typically, what we can tell you is that when tractor-trailer drivers and tractor-trailer companies are following the rules, tractor-trailers don’t just leave the roadway and strike vehicles that are well off the roadway and not moving.”
