These are Former Black Sabbath Drummer Bill Ward’s Ten Favorite Metal Albums of All Time
Boy, Rolling Stone is really milking this whole 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time thing, aren’t they? Not that I blame them. We’d milk that cow dry. Also, it’s fun to look at all these lists, so whatever.
The latest list comes from Bill Ward, the shunned former drummer for Black Sabbath. There are some real surprises here, like the inclusion of Dead Cross’ soon-to-be-released debut, DevilDriver’s Beast (of all the DevilDriver albums…), Fear Factory’s Mechanize (see: DevilDriver), a goddamn greatest hits collection (does that even count?), and Krisiun. Because who could have guessed that Bill Ward knows who the fuck Krisiun are?
Also, he’s the first celebrity musician thus far to provide a list featuring one of his own albums on it — and that includes Ozzy Osbourne. Just saying.
Mr. Ward’s list is below (via The PRP). You can read his explanations for all his choices here.
10. Dead Cross – Dead Cross
09. DevilDriver – Beast
08. Fear Factory – Mechanize
07. Krisiun – Southern Storm
06. Type O Negative – October Rust

04. Judas Priest – The Best of Judas Priest: Living After Midnight
