Watch: Axl Rose Joins Billy Joel On Stage

0

Billy Joel has been performing once a month at Madison Square Garden for over four years now, and reportedly plans to keep doing so until one of those shows doesn’t sell out. The whole thing is absolutely bananas: the man is rich beyond his wildest dreams, gets flown in by helicopter to work once a month, and then lives off the fat of the land for the rest of eternity. Incredible.

Someone else who’s no stranger to outsize live show income: Axl Rose, whose Guns N’ Roses has grossed over $230 million since reuniting last year. So when Joel gave a rare L.A. performance last night at Dodger Stadium, who do you think got the call for a guest appearance to make for a buncha big shots together in one place?

Rose joined Joel on stage for two songs: a cover of AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell” during the set (Rose recently fronted AC/DC on tour, of course, and Joel has covered the track in the past) and an encore of Joel’s classic “Big Shot.” Watch video of both below.

“Big Shot” is definitely the more compelling listen of the two, whatwith Rose’s drastically different vocal range than we’re accustomed to hearing on the original; it kinda comes off like “Mr. Browstone Shot,” if you know what I mean.
