Metallica Pop-Up Stores Announced to Coincide with Summer Stadium Tour
Although we normally associate pop-up stores with pop acts like Justin Bieber, hard rock and metal have had some success with such endeavors, too — last year, for example, Guns N’ Roses and John Varvatos teamed up for a Manhattan pop-up store which, um, popped up just in time for the band’s performance at MetLife Stadium.
So it’s not too surprising that Metallica have announced they’ll have their own series of pop-up stores, y’know, popping up along the route for their big summer stadium tour with Avenged Sevenfold, Volbeat, and Gojira (dates here).
Obviously, we have no idea what items, if any, will be sold at the stores, and whether or not they’ll also be available on the tour. But if you’ve ever wanted to walk into a store with nothing but Metallica-related merch, well, here’s your big chance!
The first store will be in Manhattan (again) before their show at MetLife Stadium… specifically, the store will pop up at 96 Spring Street. Here are the store’s dates and hours (via Metal Injection):
- May 12 – 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- May 13 – 10 p.m.
- May 14 – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Meanwhile, here are the dates/towns for all the other stores, although precise locations/hours of operation have yet to be announced:
- St. Louis, Missouri: June 2 – June 4
- Houston, Texas: June 9 – June 11
- Chicago, Illinois: June 16 – June 18
- Atlanta, Georgia: July 7 – July 9
- Toronto, Ontario: July 14 – July 16
- Los Angeles, California: July 27 – July 29
- San Diego, California: August 4 – August 6
- San Francisco, California: August 11 – August 13
Happy shopping.
