King Diamond Announces Only U.S. Show of 2017
First, the good news: King Diamond will headline the 2017 incarnation of Psycho Las Vegas! Huzzah!
But now the bad: it’ll be his only U.S. show of the year. Boooooo!
The King already took off all of 2016 from touring the U.S., following 2015’s successful Abigail performance run and his jaunt on the Mayhem Festival, so by the time he tours again it will’ve been three years, at a minimum. And that’s a good thing: we wouldn’t want Mr. D to overstay his welcome, as so many bands do these days. It’ll be even more special if and when he does finally decide to take his show around the country once again. The guy is also getting up there in age (he turned 60 last year!) so we want to make sure he’s healthy and firing on all cylinders when he hits the stage.
There is also this: King Diamond is working on a new album! No word on the progress of that, but it’s a thing that’s happening.
But for now, better book those plane tickets to Vegas. The festival will take place over three days, from August 18th through 20th, at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Psycho Las Vegas has been building quite a reputation for itself each of the past two years, and the 2017 lineup is shaping up to be the most impressive yet. Tickets are on sale now.
