Anthrax Vocalist Continues on National Anthem Circuit, Performs Before Syracuse Basketball Game
Joey Belladonna has become the go-to metal guy for singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” at sporting events of late. The Anthrax vocalist belted out our national anthem for a packed Chicago Cubs crowd in September, then was invited back to The Windy City to do the same before a Bulls game in November.
Now Belladonna is lending his talents to the college basketball circuit, as his trademark vibrato kicked off the action at a Syracuse basketball game over the weekend. He’s something of a local hero in the area, of course, originally hailing from nearby Oswego, NY, so this performance must’ve held extra meaning to both him and those in attendance.
Watch below. And, if you live in the area, make sure you catch Belladonna’s cover band Chief Big Way, in which he play drums and sings; here’s some footage of them performing in Rochester last summer.
