Robert Trujillo Says “I Personally Won’t Let it Be Eight Years” Before Metallica Make Another Album
It’s been roughly six weeks since the release of Metallica’s Hardwired… to Self-Destruct. So enough time has now sufficiently passed that fans can begin to ask the big question: “When’s the next one coming out?”
Well, here’s an exciting development regarding that very question! While we still don’t know the exact release date of Metallica’s next record, we can at least narrow it down to sometime between now and 2024.
Metal Injection reports that bassist Robert Trujillo broke the news during a recent interview with Saskatchewan’s 104.9 The Wolf, when he assured fans that “I personally won’t let it be eight years” before the band makes another album.
Some listeners have reported hearing Lars Ulrich cackle in the background immediately after Trujillo made the assertion, taunting the bassist, “Oh, taking charge, are you? Run that little plan by Newsted yet?” As of press time, MetalSucks has been unable to confirm these reports.
So there ya go. New Metallica sometime before 2024. Mark it in your calendars!
