Unsigned and Unholy: Rootwork, Minutian, Enigma

London three-piece Rootwork are an interesting bunch not easily pigeonholed. If John Baizley had taken Baroness more in the direction of ’90s noise-rock instead of Southern stoner jams, and if he’d blended that with proggy alt-rock like Biffy Clyro, it’d probably sound something like this. The band’s new EP, Some of Us May Never Bloom, comes out on November 19th.

Fans of Anathema, Antimatter, and all things Floydian (as they relate to heavy music) should enjoy Minutian. Another way to put it: kind of like a more chilled out, less metal version of Swallow the Sun. The groove really carries their newest song “Void Within,” the video for which you can watch below.
