OZZY OSBOURNE TO GREENPEACE: “F*CK YOU!”

Following the release of Ozzy Osbourne’s latest album Black Rain, MetalSucks noted the eco-friendly / cost-cutting packaging that the wily ol’ Prince of Darkness used to package his CD. Well, nevermind; apparently Ozzy has re-negged, as today Epic Records is reissuing Black Rain in a full jewel-case package containing the full booklet with lyrics and new cover art and photos. It will also contain CD extra bonus content featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the Black Rain photo shoot.

This strikes us as a move of desperation on Sharonozzy’s part. Black Rain has moved 343,652 units to date since its May 22 release, and while this is certainly a respectable number in these troubled times, I can’t imagine that it brings the album anywhere close to recoupment. Add to that this year’s free-admission Ozzfest, the recent sale of Sharonozzy’s mansion to one Christina Aguilera, and… well, wethinks Sharonozzy might be a little strapped for cash right now. After all, someone needs to pay for Zakk Wylde’s beer rider and potential bar-fight lawsuits.
