Slayer, Anthrax, and Exodus “’69” Like Bryan Adams

I do not mind admitting that I have a soft spot for Bryan Adams. I even saw him play live once! I mean, it was a very last-minute decision, it was not my idea originally, and the ticket was practically free, but still, I didn’t have to be dragged or anything. And it was fun! Dude writes good songs and puts on a good show.

And before you make fun of me, know this: apparently at least certain members of Slexoder and Anthrax agree with me! Okay maybe that’s not exactly the staggering endorsement it would have once been. Still better than a recommendation from Emmure, though, right? So that’s something.

ANYWAY, the aforementioned members of Slexoder and Anthrax — specifically, Tom Araya, Joey Belladonna, Gary Holt, and Paul Bostaph — recently jammed on Adams’ wistful “Summer of ’69” during a soundcheck for their currently-in-progress tour with Death Angel (dates here). (Un?)Fortunately for all of us, Jon Donais filmed some of it and posted it on the web for us all to enjoy.

Watch the video below. In case you’re curious, in the actual summer of ’69, Tom Araya was nine, Gary Holt and Paul Bostaph were both five, Jon Donais was negative eleven, and Joey Belladonna was seventy-two.

And here’s the original for the three of you who don’t know it:
