Metallica Will Start Touring in January 2017
That Metallica will tour extensively to support their forthcoming album Hardwired… to Self-Destruct is a given; even when they haven’t had a new album out they’ve toured pretty consistently of late. The band played the festival circuit in Europe several times over the past few years, and they even took time off from the recording studio to play some gigs here and there over the past year. Still, they haven’t done a proper tour of the States since 2009.
So check out this quote from Lars Ulrich in an interview with Rolling Stone, brought to our attention by Metal Insider:
We did 180 shows on the Death Magnetic tour in two-week periods over three years. That’s what works for us. We’re going to start pretty much full-on touring in January and are looking to figure out what we’re doing in North America, but there will definitely be some pretty extensive touring in America.
When asked about the new material, Lars responded, “We’re itching to play [the new songs]. Right now, every day when we get into the Tuning Room we’re just playing the new songs. Then we’re like, ‘Wait, we gotta get out there and play ‘Master of Puppets.’”
Expect a concrete announcement from ‘Tallica about their 2017 touring plans very soon… gotta start promoting those dates!
