WSOU Picks of the Week: Revocation, Ringworm, Freedom Call

0

Seton Hall University’s WSOU radio is the only all-metal, all-the-time station currently broadcasting in the US, and as been a force in metal for DECADES. It’s also streamable online from anywhere in the world! Each week, the staff of WSOU shares their picks for the heaviest of the heavy, as well as the station’s charts for that week, right here on MetalSucks. Enjoy:

Revocation – “Crumbling Imperium” (Rohit R.)

I don’t think this band ever takes a break. These tech-death thrashers are either touring or releasing an album pretty much every year and their music still never gets old. Every album has something different to offer and it feels like Dave Davidson and the band’s playing gets better with each release. Their new album Great Is Our Sin comes out on Metal Blade next Friday so make sure to check it out!

Ringworm – “Innocent Blood” (Mike C.)

If Ringworm are anything, it’s unique. Plenty of bands have borrowed from them, but none sound quite the same. The third single off of their upcoming album Snake Church definitely does not disappoint; “Innocent Blood” delivers their signature brand of blazing, thrashy hardcore accompanied by The Human Furnace’s rapid, incendiary vocal delivery. Snake Church, their eighth full-length, is out July 29 on Relapse Records. The track rips, plain and simple.

Freedom Call – “Hammer Of The Gods” (Dylan G.)

I know the term “happy metal” doesn’t sound like the most appealing to a demographic that adores tracks like Cannibal Corpse’s “I Cum Blood” or basically anything that has to do with Satan, but the members of Freedom Call have become masters of the power metal anthem. Their new album Master of Light is due to come out later this year and you can catch them in North America at ProgPowerUSA this September.
