Tera Wray Static: Friends and Family Release Statement, Confirm Suicide
Last week, Tera Wray Static, the widow of the late Wayne Static (Static-X) — who died in late 2014 as the result of mixing alcohol and prescription drugs — was herself found dead in an apparent suicide. She was just 33 years old.
A newly-released statement by Tera’s loved ones confirms that she did indeed take her own life:
As we are still unable to contact the person who runs Wayne Static’s Facebook page, to post the official statement…

This is obviously a very sensitive subject, so I say this with all due respect: it’s a little off-putting to see Wray taking her own life portrayed as a grand romantic gesture in the same vein as Romeo and Juliet. I know we tell ourselves things while seeking comfort after the death of a loved one, and it’s nice to think that Wayne and Tera have been reunited in the after life. But I do not believe that love conquered all when Wray took her own life — depression did. She had decades of life left, during which time she may very well have fallen in love again. “Love conquers all” is a happy sentiment. A woman in her early 30s taking dying by her own hand is not.
Just my two cents.
