The Human Abstract Reunion Rumors Heat Up Again
Update, 4:10 pm: Matt F. helpfully passed along the below screencaps of Travis discussing the situation with fans. Thanks, Matt!
Before you get your hopes up, let me say this: don’t get your hopes up. I believe The Human Abstract will reunite sooner or later (as every band does, without exception), but I’m not convinced this is proof it’s happening anytime soon. Still, it’s interesting.
So, basically, as far as I can tell, what happened is this: four-fifths of the band somehow ended up in a room together, presumably for a party or gathering of some sort (note: dressy clothes, booze). They posed for a photo together and then bassist Henry Selva posted that photo on Instagram with an enticing caption. Whichever member or members of the band run their Twitter account then re-tweeted the pic, adding fuel to the fire.

And then, guitarist Dean Herrera — the only member of the band not present for the photo — sent out his own tweet, adding more fuel to the fire.
Wish I coulda been there but when #MammothMountain calls, I answer. 2016 could be interesting https://t.co/p3hY064wm1

Matt F., the MetalSucks reader who tipped us off to all this excitement, says that vocalist Travis Richter “has replied back to commenters that something is in the works,” although I don’t see those responses on Twitter or Facebook so I can’t confirm that.
MetalSucks reached out to drummer Brett Powell for comment but has not heard back as of this writing. We’ll let you know when/if we get a response. In the meantime, like I said: don’t get your hopes up yet. Nobody wants this band to play again more than I do, but I remain skeptical until something is confirmed.
