Here is your daily Christmas Break metal news round-up for Wednesday, December 23:

  • Metallica have released a holiday video in which you can hear a brief snippet of some new material. You can watch the video here, but you’ll have to register with their fan club first (don’t worry, it’s free).
  • All four members of Emmure who aren’t Frankie Palmeri have quit the band… and bassist Mark Davis tells Lambgoat that they’re launching a new project together in 2016. In other words: BEEF! What’s interesting here is that they didn’t just fire Palmeri and continue on as Emmure, which suggests that Palmeri owns the brand. The vocalist probably doesn’t have to worry about replacing the line-up, though, as this fellow helpfully points out:

  • If you want to hire Attila’s Chris Fronzak as your mentor, you can now do that (he’ll even give you his phone number). Also, if you want to hire Attila’s Chris Fronzak as your mentor, seriously reconsider your choices in life.
  • Sumerian Records will celebrate their tenth anniversary with a tour featuring Born of Osiris, Veil of Maya, After the Burial, ERRA, and their newest signing, Bad Omens. Here are dates, courtesy of The PRP:

  • Art of Anarchy, whose self-titled debut is also Scott Weiland’s final recording, are now giving away that debut for free in tribute to Weiland. You can get it here. The band also features guitarist Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (ex-Guns N’ Roses) and bassist John Moyer (Disturbed, ex-Union Underground).
  • Thy Will Be Done have launched a crowdfunding campaign to help cover medical costs for drummer Jay Waterman, who is currently recovering from his recent cardiac arrest. It’s the giving season, so give what you can here.
  • Vince Neil seems to think that the movie adaptation of The Dirt will be out in Summer 2016. I guess nobody has the heart to tell him that unless the movie has already been shot it will absolutely not be out in Summer 2016. Hey, dummy. It’s practically friggin’ January. You think they can film, do post production, and market a movie in six months? Lemme know how that goes.
  • Here’s a fun instance of cops being cool, courtesy of the band Three Guys One Shirt:

  • Iron Maiden made a cute Christmas video starring everyone’s favorite mascot, Eddie the Head:

  • Speaking of Iron Maiden, these Maiden/Judas Priest mash-ups are pretty great (via The PRP):
