Agoraphobic Nosebleed’s “Not a Daughter” is Your New Favorite Song

“Not a Daughter,” the new song from Agoraphobic Nosebleed, is like nothing you’ve ever heard the band play before. Credit vocalist Kat Katz; the upcoming Arc is the first of four separate albums, each in a different style — and, as is befitting Katz’s background with the doom band Salome, Arc is a doom album.

“Not a Daughter” is also the best song you’re going to hear today, and possibly the best song you’re going to hear this month. If you were a Salome fan (as I was!), you should know that this doesn’t really sound like that band, either; Scott Hull’s licks are way too groovy and tasty. There are parts of “Daughter” that could be a Down song — it’s got that kinda groove to it. Which definitely contributes to the fact that it’s so friggin’ fun.
