A Video Tour of Jeff Hanneman’s Guitar Collection Purchased by Broken Hope’s Jeremy Wagner

Earlier this month the news that Broken Hope’s Jeremy Wagner had purchased Jeff Hanneman’s entire personal guitar collection sent the metal world into a bit of a tizzy. Wagner contacted Kathryn, Hanneman’s widow, upon discovering that she was putting the guitars up for auction to help the Wounded Warriors Project, one of Jeff’s favorite charities, and paid an undisclosed sum for the guitars. While everyone agreed that the money was going to a very good cause — and that it’s badass that Jeff’s legacy is being carried into the future through the continued use of his guitars by a metal band — we all collectively wondered how Wagner came up with that kind of money.

Welp, we still don’t have an answer to that question. But we do get to learn a whole lot more about the guitars that Wagner purchased in a video segment he filmed with Gear Gods. Not only does Wagner highlight each of the guitars he purchased in startling detail, but he talks extensively about his love for Slayer and Hanneman, and how he came to acquire these guitars from the Hanneman family and ESP Guitars. It’s good to know this collection ended up in the hands of such a big fan.
