Meek is Murder Release Cover of Metallica’s “Blackened” for Kirk Hammett’s Birthday
Metallica’s Kirk Hammett turns 53 today, which means he’s had at wah pedal under his foot for roughly forty years. Happy birthday, Kirk! Metallica probably would have been very successful regardless of whether or not you were in the band, but then again, you did write “Enter Sandman”!
To celebrate, Brooklyn’s own Meek is Murder have released a cover of “Blackened,” a song that Kirk did not write. But whatever. It’s still rad! They managed to shave almost five minutes off the song’s running time. I approve.
